A mathematical puzzle ...............

........... so, here I am with 15 blocks in front of me.  8 of Block A and 7 of Block B, all with a directional print in the centre.  I want to turn these into 3 rows, 2 as block A, Block B, etc and 1 starting with Block B.  How many errors can I make when it's late and I'm suffering with a cold and a bad throat?  We tried to work it out last night, but when we got to something like 192 to the power of............. my eyes glazed over and my brain stopped working.  Actually I don't think it was working in the first place, which is why I made so many mistakes.

  1. Sounds complicated! I hope you're feeling better soon and can get the layout sorted.

  2. I hope you feel better soon. You'll probably solve this issue in 3 minutes after you've had a good nights sleep.

  5. I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. When you're having that kind of problem it's best to just relax with a cup of tea, and let the blocks rest.
They won't go anywhere. It's amazing how patiently they will wait for you.

  6. Put it all away, have some chocolate and alcohol of your choice and everything will work better in the morning.

    Take care of yourself

  7. Nothing seems to work when your sick or tired. Yesterday my friend and I worked on a Buggy Barn quilt and had to read it 20 times before we dared cut a single swipe through the fabric. Hope your feeling better soon.

  9. I've had such bad quilt math luck this weekend that just reading your first sentence made my head hurt. I recommend having a nap until it all makes sense again. lol

  14. Sorry you've been poorly. The answer to "how many different ways" is at least one-hundred-and-eleventy-seven.

Just be grateful you were not also trying to work out how wide some filler strips needed to be in order that borders (which were bigger than the quilt top and could not be reduced) would fit. Oh, and the end border measurement was different to the sides ...

Word ver: DUMBSO - and whoever said this stuff was randomly generated!!!

  15. Hope the cold's improving. Still can't picture the block conundrum. Picture might help? You've probably got it sorted by now though?
